This morning I passed this like stone monument that was broken and crumbling.  And I felt like the Lord was whispering, “That is you.”

But the thought that immediately came into my mind was that how it looked today was much more beautiful than before (it had recently crumbled a little).

Then I was thinking that maybe deep within I want to be this put together leader or Christian or missionary (just like the monument was) and Jesus just whispered, “some of the best leaders are the broken ones.”

It was a strangely profound moment this morning.  Then I was thinking about the monument more and about community.  And how community is a bunch of broken people coming together.  And how beautiful that is to the Lord.  And how when we stop desiring community and just loving people, naturally community happens.

All this because of a cumbling work of art.
